Inspiration and Insight: Being Still . . .

Today’s post was written by Michelle. She blogs at SomeGirlsWebsite and Tweets as @SomeGirlsTweets. I love this post! I have already read it several times and will continue to meditate on the message. Here is Michelle’s inspiration and insight for today:

I am so honored that Jennifer asked me to guest blog here.  I’ve been praying off and on all week about what to share with you. And there’s one thought that just hasn’t left my head…

Last week on my blog, SomeGirl’sWebsite, I wrote:

Are you worried? Are thoughts swirling around in your head?

If so, listen to the words of The One that loves you and has everything under control…

“Be still, and know that I am God…”

He IS in control and you can rest in Him! May you know His peace and be filled to overflowing with it!

Then my husband and I went to see The Karate Kid and half-way through the movie Jackie Chan said,

“Being still and doing nothing are two different things.” I quickly looked through my purse for a pen and paper (old receipt) and jotted his words down. They’ve stuck with me all week and I really feel like this is what I’m supposed  to share with you today. So, here it is…  my guest post:

Being Still and Doing Nothing Are Two Different Things

When we’re worried and those thoughts are swirling around in our head, let’s be still and TRUST in The One that loves us and has everything under control. Let’s THINK on Him who has everything in His control and REST in His unfailing love.  Let’s OPEN our hands, hearts and mind to LET GO of our worries and RECEIVE His incomprehensible peace and may we be filled to overflowing with it!

Now that I think about it, being still and doing nothing are two TOTALLY different things!

May you know His peace and be filled with it today! ♥ Michelle (aka SomeGirl)

  1. Sherry says:

So true! When being still, we focus on Christ, patiently waiting while reading Scripture, praying, and waiting on Him.

  2. That is an excellent post!!!
