Not long ago, I wrote about some new things God has opened up for me to do this year. I am both excited and nervous. I have continued to pray about what God wants to do in and through me during this time, and, like Moses, I have continued to feel a little inadequate. Unlike Moses, I have chosen not to argue with God, but I have been falling at His feet regularly asking for my walk and words to be all Him.
I am so thankful that I obeyed God’s prompting to read the Bible in 90 Days because I have found so much in the parts of the Old Testament that I have read through before as “just history” that God has used to speak to me—to apply to my life, today.
A couple of days ago, I read Judges 6 and came across this verse: “The LORD turned . . . and said, ‘Go in the strength you have . . . . Am I not sending you?’” (verse 14 NIV2010).
I am comforted by that verse. If God is sending me to do something, the strength I have is enough because He is sending me. So the question I have to ask myself anytime I’m starting something that requires more of me than I think I have to give, that asks me to stretch beyond my comfort zone, is this: Am I going because I want to go, or is He sending me?
If He’s sending me, all is well. If I’m doing something solely because I want to do it, I’d better stop and reevaluate the situation.
What questions do you ask to evaluate which activities to participate in?

I always ask God if it is His will. Will it glorify Him and not me or others. What an awesome verse to have found!
Thank you for sharing that, Joy! I’m glad you like the verse too!

I pray. I also do a check against what the Holy Spirit has already revealed. I can’t wait to learn more about your plans.
Yes! Those are good! I try to do the same thing (when I’m not running full speed ahead of God!). Thank you so much!

Love the verse, Jennifer, and love your heart before the Lord. I find myself continually asking the Lord if I should continue with my blog as I have the full-time TA position. Just received a card from someone today that encouraged me to keep going.
Blessings,
Janis
I’m glad you’re continuing, Janis! I don’t always get by to comment, but I read every post when it comes to my inbox!
I love your heart too. I’m thankful we “met” each other and have gotten to share what’s on our hearts through our blogs (and other ways too)!
