I love to read, and I never tire of reading Christian fiction that inspires and entertains me. In The Lady of Bolton Hill by Elizabeth Camden, I found suspense, adventure, and romance along with a female lead that challenged me to share my faith more openly with others.
Clara Endicott and Daniel Tremain become best friends as children when their shared loved of music brings them together. Circumstances separate them for twelve years. When they meet again, there is an immediate attraction between them, but it seems unlikely that it will blossom into a true romance.
Clara is a journalist determined to use her writing skills to improve the plight of underpaid, often mistreated, workers, and Daniel is a powerful industrialist (some would say robber baron) with a vendetta against one of his biggest rivals. Both find themselves the target of an evil that is bigger than they can imagine. Daniel fights back with his money and the bitterness that drives him. Clara finds Philippians 4:13 more real to her than she ever imagined, and the transformations that occur as she walks in obedience to that Word make this story a memorable one.
If you’re looking for something fun to read this summer, pick up a copy of The Lady of Bolton Hill. Between its covers you will find a well-written piece of historical fiction, and you might (like me) find yourself challenged to live differently!
