Be Fully Persuaded: God Brings People

Be Fully Persuaded: God Brings People - jenniferajanes.com

Welcome to the Be Fully Persuaded series! This week I’m sharing how God provides for us by bringing the right people into our lives at just the right time.

Thank you for meeting me here every week to rejoice in God’s faithfulness to keep His promises and in His creative provision for every area of our lives. I pray that we are all encouraged to stand strong in our faith and that God will make Romans 4:20-21 a reality for all of us as we focus on Him and His Word:

Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.

Romans 4:20-21 (NIV)

Be Fully Persuaded: God Brings People

God provides for us in so many ways. One way He has provided for my family over and over is through bringing the right people into our lives at exactly the right time. When I prayed about which time to share, my friend Rebecca from Mom’s Mustard Seeds came to mind.

Rebecca and I originally “met” through social media. We talked on the phone for the first time when her family was going through a crisis—they were about to leave on an extended trip to attend the funeral of a loved one.

After their return, Rebecca and I continued to talk on the phone sometimes, and we interacted almost daily online. We compared notes about our struggling learners and shared ideas about how best to nurture and homeschool them. We were both really stumped about how to help my younger daughter make progress in reading. Then Rebecca attended some training sessions and workshops and met a woman she felt could point me in the right direction. She was right!

The woman she directed me to contact is the same person who told me about the importance of reference cards when teaching struggling learners. We are still in touch several times a year, and she always has ideas that direct my research and instruction techniques for my younger daughter.

Because of some of the research I’ve done and how it has affected how I homeschool my little one, I have met a lot of wonderful people online and in person and have been able to share with them what I am learning. As I open up to others about our struggles, God is giving me opportunities to share with even more people. I am amazed at everything He is doing in my life. And it all started through my friendship with Rebecca.

Rebecca and I will finally meet in person in May at the Teach Them Diligently Convention in Nashville. That will be a sweet reunion, indeed!

God brought Rebecca into my life at just the right time. She has shared this homeschooling and blogging journey with me, and I am so thankful for her friendship and for everything that has transpired since that first phone conversation.

Yes, God brings people into our lives to provide for us and to guide us into His will for our lives.

How have you seen God provide for you or your family through the people He has brought across your path at just the right time?

So, I just finished my morning devotions. I’m tired sweet friend. This life and journey we are on – has taken me to heights and valleys I never imagined. To wake and read your sweet words – as I read about the power of friendship in the book of Job. Through this study in Job – today, we meander to James 3:5-10 – the power of the tongue -or words. Your words – have always been healing, Jennifer. You are a source of truth and encouragement without an an ounce of pride or arrogance. I have learned so much for you – and am thankful I didn’t run away from that phone call – and I look forward to our weekly call – Love you dearly!

    • Thank you, Rebecca. I love you too! Your words challenge and inspire me. They are encouraging and cause me to examine myself in the light of His Word. I’m tired too. I’m trusting Him to see me through each day and am looking forward to May, when we get to meet in person!

Yes! God brought us you and your family. In the past, I have selfishly spoken about me getting to have a friendship with you at just the perfect time, but getting to watch my Monkey-Girl and your BookGirl together, and both girls with the boys, etc. (because if I keep going, I will cover the entire past 4 years) I have realized that our families were brought together for each other at God’s perfect time.
