Join Me at the Greater St. Louis Area Home Educators Expo!

As I have prayed about pursuing margin and rest this year, determined to be obedient to God’s direction for 2014, I confess that I have fretted about some things. I feel like God is calling me to post only twice a week for a season, and I have been concerned about what this will mean for my blog stats, for getting invitations to speak, and for being invited to collaborate on books and other special projects. (I hate to admit that these thoughts have concerned me when they really shouldn’t matter, but there it is.)

God took all those concerns and put them to rest this week, after I wrestled with and finally surrendered to His plans so that I can better care for my family and my health. I received an email from the Greater St. Louis Area Home Educators Expo*, asking me to speak in their special needs section. After prayer and discussion with my husband and clarifying some things with the Expo’s board, I have agreed to speak in several sessions at the Expo, which is being held March 27-29, 2014.

When I received the invitation and saw the Expo’s mission, I knew the invitation came straight from God. It had His hand all over it. It was such an encouragement to me, and I felt ashamed that I had ever doubted that God could or would open doors for me.

This situation also made me think of something I’ve heard Charles Stanley say in many sermons: “Obey God and leave all the consequences to Him.” By being obedient to God’s leading for my blog and writing, homeschool, family, health situation, and time with Him, I’m opening myself up for blessings beyond my comprehension. His plans for me are for good, and He can accomplish them without my help.

Please visit the Expo’s website* and get registration information if you’re anywhere close to St. Louis, Missouri! I would love to see you there! Between sessions, I will be in the exhibitors hall, ready to answer questions, pray with you, or just have a heart-to-heart chat. Please join me there!

*The website is still under construction, so please be patient. An awesome group of volunteers is working on it!

    • Thank you, Rebecca! The process I have been going through has apparently been to get rid of everything extraneous in my life so I can focus on what He has for me in 2014. I appreciate your unending love, support, encouragement, and prayers!

  2. Woohoo! That is fabulous! I love how you obeyed God and trusted Him with the results. He would still be good and faithful without giving you this opportunity, but how amazing that He would do that!
