I spent most of this week waiting. Earlier this week I waited (a little anxiously) for my nephrology appointment. Then I waited for the test results that would determine the next step in figuring out why I have trouble raising my potassium levels. I still don’t have those results, so all the other testing I thought I was going to have done this week is on hold. No news there.
In our part of the country, we are waiting for the high temperatures to drop below triple digits again, and we are anxiously waiting for rain. Our drought status was just changed to D4 (exceptional), the highest the drought rankings go. The National Weather Service sees no change or worsening of drought conditions through November. We are starting to see fires in our area, and they spread fast. I am praying for rain and waiting to see the answer to those prayers.
Most importantly, I am waiting on the Lord, who is the answer to every problem and the hope in every situation. I’m waiting expectantly, eager to see how He’s going to answer each prayer.
“. . . but those who hope in the LORD
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.”
Isaiah 40:31 (NIV1984)
Are you waiting for something? How may I pray for you?
