Nephrology and Radiology

Yes, that’s a lot of “-ology” in the title, but I’ve dealt with them both this week. It was a little nerve-wracking, but I got good news!

First, the nephrologist can find nothing wrong with my kidneys or adrenal glands. At one point there was a kidney tumor on the table as a possibility, but we’re not even thinking about that anymore. Whew! His best guess is that my body isn’t absorbing potassium properly, so I’ll have to watch my potassium levels and stick to the plan we’ve developed. I’m just glad we’re not considering the scary stuff anymore.

Secondly, my doctor’s office called yesterday to tell me that the radiology report from my chest x-ray came back showing NO pneumonia! I’m struggling to recover from a really nasty bout of bronchitis. It doesn’t change the strategy, which is to take my medicine and get plenty of rest. It does mean I don’t have to go back in three weeks for another chest x-ray! Hooray!

I took the kids to the Kids’ Day at the Fair yesterday morning. (Yes, it was exhausting, but it’s the only field trip we’ve taken so far this year. The kids were really looking forward to it!) We enjoyed it, came home, and crashed for the afternoon. I’ll post some pictures here soon, along with some activities we’ve done as part of our science and social studies curriculum. We’re having a blast!

Be blessed! I’m going to go rest. I’ll be back soon.

Share some good news with me today! What’s going on in your world?

Good thing in my world: last night I had an uninterrupted night’s sleep for the first time in my recent memory! It’s amazing how much easier the morning is when everyone has slept well. God also answered a very tiny prayer for me, so I’ll take this chance to say out loud – yay, God! Thanks for caring about the tiny prayers, too.

Praising God that all the tests came back negative and that you are on the mend! God is the Great Physician and will take care of you! :) Thanks for stopping by my blog. I appreciate your encouragement and so happy that my words are speaking to you! I am just trying to write what God lays on my heart! :)

Good thing in my life — starting a new Bible study (and maybe making some new friends?) and being able to attend a much needed ladies’ night out at a local church earlier this week. I’m trying to blog about it right now… hopefully will have a post up tomorrow?
I also wanted to say… thanks so much for checking in with me a while back when I first took my much too long hiatus from blogging. It meant a lot to me. Trying to get back into it (even if no one is reading anymore!)

    • You’re welcome, Melody! Thanks for checking on me. It sounds like you’ve got some good things going on. Don’t despair. I haven’t been the most active blogger recently either. I’m trying to ease my way back in too!

  7. Lisa says:

Glad to read the good news from the doctor. I will keep you in my prayers.

Sounds like a great field trip. I look forward to seeing the pictures. We just went on an awesome field trip on Wednesday and I posted some photos on my blog. If you’re up to it, go take a look. :-)

    Have a great weekend!
    Many blessings,
    Lisa

    • Thank you, Lisa! The pictures from the field trip were wonderful. It looks very similar to a field trip we’re going to make in a few weeks. I’m even more excited after looking at your post!

I’m hoping to get our field trip pictures up tomorrow or Thursday!
