When it comes to photographs and preserving their memories for my children, I’m a terrible failure. I’m doing better at capturing candid moments on film, but I don’t have the time, energy, or inclination to scrapbook, and I’m not good at arranging everything into photo albums either. Of course, this means that the pictures of our homeschool projects and field trips have been relegated to a few pictures in a post here and there, or to the flash drive, where no one can enjoy them easily.
All of that changed when Total Yearbooks offered me the opportunity to make a yearbook! I was hesitant at first. I never took any journalism classes and didn’t have the first idea how to start arranging a yearbook layout. When I got to the website, I realized that I didn’t have anything to worry about. They have made it super easy.
The hardest part of the process was uploading my photos. This took a while because I uploaded pictures from the entire school year before I began putting the book together. I would definitely recommend uploading pictures throughout the school year so it’s not such a big task to do all at once. After I uploaded all the photos, I chose a template to purchase, and I began organizing and arranging the photos on the pages. This part was easy, and it was simple to drag the pages around to change the order.
My children are thrilled with the finished product! My older one enjoyed revisiting the year’s memories, and my younger one (who is very interested in how pretty things are) kept saying, “That is so cute. This turned out so cute!” I’m so pleased with the result that I’m planning to do another one next year!
If you’ve thought about doing a yearbook for your homeschool but thought it cost too much or you weren’t talented enough to do it, Total Yearbooks has overcome those objections for you. The templates make it easy, and the number of printing options available make it very affordable!
