In the spirit of “Multitude Monday”, I am continuing my expression of gratitude by participating in a writing project hosted by High Calling Blogs. For this project, members of The High Calling are supposed to write posts about one another or guest post on one another’s blogs about friendships that began online.
I have met many wonderful new friends online, but over the weekend, one particular friend invited me to participate in this project with her. We hashed out the details through private messages on Facebook, and we are presenting the story of our friendship today!
You met Janis here a little over a month ago. She wrote a guest post for me to help me out when Roo had her surgery. We have not met in person yet, but I hope the day comes when that will happen.
I met Janis over at OurChurch.com while we were doing the 31 Days to Build a Better Blog class. We read and responded to one another’s comments for a while, and I noticed that Janis and I were kindred spirits. Her faith is a critical part of her life, like mine is for me, and I wanted to know her better. I subscribed to her blog so that I could read her heart every day. We became friends on Facebook and Twitter, and we began e-mailing one another. Our relationship has grown and deepened as we communicate online. We check on one another almost every day. We share prayer requests and praises via e-mail. We read Twitter and Facebook updates and respond. We help and support each other with blog projects.
Janis has encouraged me so much this summer. She faithfully prays for me and for my family and has provided me with much-needed assistance on my blog. I am thankful that I have gotten to know her, and I look forward to continuing that process. Let’s go over to Janis’s blog and see what she’s up to today! (She’s supposed to be writing about me!)
Have you developed a friendship with someone online? I’d love to hear about it!
