The Birth of Jesus by Grapevine Studies {Review}

For several weeks my family and I have been working our way through The Birth of Jesus by Grapevine Studies. We love reading the history of Christmas verse by verse and drawing pictures to help us remember the key points.

As with our Esther study, the girls look forward to sitting down and doing the lessons together. (My nine-year-old still mourns the fact that Esther is over and is already asking which study we’re going to do when this one is over!) The multi-sensory teaching style of these studies is a great way to help children remember what they’re studying in the Bible, and it’s especially critical for my struggling learner.

The Birth of Jesus has helped us to keep our focus on Christ during this busy time of year by making us slow down and really think about the significance of Christ’s birth. I have even been reminded of parts of the history that I had forgotten!

In addition to learning so much from the study of God’s Word, we have also had our moments of fun, like when my husband did the drawing that made King Herod look like he was about to execute a martial arts move:

This is what Grapevine Studies look like at our house:

    I would enjoy that it doesn’t seem to require “perfect” drawing, so it would not be a stumbling block for my son.

  2. Jennifer Lane says:

    My family and I would like this because we have 4 special needs children. Simple is better when teaching them. This looks like something that will be good for our family. We like bringing the Bible into their studies. Thank you so much!

    My boys are hooked on the Wimpy Kid series, and drawing out the birth of Jesus with simple but meaningful stick figure pictures would be really cool and do-able for them.

  6. Shannon says:

    I would live to have this study. We are young Christians eager for Gods Word. It’s hard to find studies that we can all connect with!

  7. Marcia S says:

    I like that they now have a traceable lesson. I think that would really help my son and I like that it would be more doable for him.

  8. Britni W. says:

    We would LOVE this so much! I have a son who isn’t in love with drawing…he more of a techy kid:) He LOVES learning about Jesus and reading his bible!! I also have preschool twins who want to do everything that their big bro does!!

    Great giveaway. This would be great for my daughter who loves drawing. Just today she drew a nativity scene. I think my s on would enjoy it very much too since it is simple drawings and a fairly short lesson. This would be very handy for teaching the kids Bible lessons at home since we dont attend a church.
